The American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists recently selected Carollo’s work on the (Denver) Metro Wastewater Reclamation District’s South Secondary Improvements Project for the AAEES National Design Grand Prize. Carollo’s “one plant” approach helped convert the existing Robert W. Hite Treatment Plant into the largest Biological Nutrient Removal plant in the country. The plant remained in service and compliant with its permit during the five-year construction process.
Carollo and MWRD will be presented with the award at a special ceremony in Washington, D.C. this April. Congratulations to a terrific client and the entire Carollo team on successfully completing this complex, industry-changing project!
As a side note, last year Carollo was also awarded the AAEES National Sustainability Grand Prize for our Biottta® project, making this back-to-back AAEES Grand Awards for Carollo.
