Five years and >$12M in research has shown us that broad-scale Direct Potable Reuse can be safely implemented. Trail-blazing utilities and cities have seen this first hand and continue to push forward. As an industry, we should reflect on this monumental progress, congratulate ourselves, and then push-on. As we look to 2018, we see the rise of Ozone/Biofiltration, innovative bioassays for system monitoring, and real-time monitoring of industrial discharges, each a component of safe, sustainable, and reliable new water supplies.
