Watershed pollution evaluations often depend on modeling and on-site monitoring to get accurate results. In this innovative project for the City of Torrance, CA, Carollo's team of Inge Wiersema (PAS), Sam Darkwah (KCO) and Graham Juby (OCO) developed an integrated watershed modeling tool that uses high-resolution satellite imagery to identify nutrient and sediment hot-spots, and then screen, evaluate, select, design and place BMPs based on cost and effectiveness.
